We are saddened to announce the passing of another beloved BTRC alum, Annie. Adopted in 2015, Annie was a radiant dog who made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Annie was the kind of pup who didn’t just walk into a room – she filled it with a presence that was so calm and so beautiful that it was felt immediately by anyone who shared her space. Her eyes were so gentle, and she had a way of letting people feel seen and loved. Her mom describes her presence as matriarchal, especially with her human brother, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond from the very beginning. Even as a baby and toddler, he was safe in her presence, and she adored him with a quiet yet strong devotion that never wavered. ❤️
Whether Annie was swimming at the cottage, chasing her ball, going for long walks, or simply being near her people, her life was bursting with joy – and that’s because her family made sure of it. She was so very cherished, and she knew it; Annie still had the zoomies in her senior years, which signified that her heart was full, she loved life, and her spirit was still so young.
This precious girl was the heart of her family. She was a best friend, a gentle guardian, and a source of unconditional love. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her mom says, “Annie was a happy, sweet, gentle girl. Anyone who met her instantly fell in love. We will deeply miss her and the special bond she had with our son. She was so special, and we feel lucky to have had her as long as we did.”
Run free, sweet Annie. You were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
