This beautiful girl came to rescue due to circumstances beyond her owner’s control. Much loved, the decision to surrender her was not made easily, and we can see why – Peanut has quickly shown that she is a clever, cuddly and charming companion, and her adaptability will make her a welcome addition to many homes.
At four years old, Peanut is very active and looks forward to her daily walks. Even if the weather is rainy, she’s up for a stroll – Melting Boston Syndrome is not a concern for this brave girl! After all the excitement, she’s a top-notch snuggler (something her foster dad can’t get enough of!).
Another thing on Peanut’s list of favourites is car rides! Whether it’s going to the trailer or vet appointments, she’s always ready to go. She’s the perfect patient at the vet, too (it helps that they fawn over her and make her feel like a queen). At the trailer, you can find her basking in the sun or taking a dip in the lake. During her adventures, she’s been comfortable meeting new people, and her happy nature often makes her the centre of attention. However, EVERYONE she meets is met with an abundance of kisses, so pucker up! She’s also friendly to other respectful dogs she’s met and shows good boundaries as she lets them take their time to get to know her. If a dog barks at her, Peanut will bark right back, so she’d do best with a respectful pup who doesn’t push limits. She hasn’t lived with cats in her foster home, but her previous owner indicated Peanut is feline-friendly, so we suspect that with the right introductions with a dog-savvy cat, she would do fine.
Peanut’s not crated when left alone and spends her time patrolling the neighbourhood through the windows or napping. She’s not destructive when unsupervised and waits patiently until her foster parents arrive home (her greeting skills are superb, by the way!).
Peanut thrives on mental stimulation with toys and playtime but also relishes cuddle time and gladly welcomes belly rubs at any time of day. She’s a great sleeper who doesn’t stir until her foster family is awake, and even then, needs encouragement to get out of bed. She is quite comfortable in her crate, but if you welcome her into the human bed, under the covers she goes!
When it comes to her eating habits, Peanut eats breakfast and dinner and happily welcomes treats. Because her foster family has worked so hard to help her shed a few pounds, her new family should continue good eating and exercise routines.
Peanut is fully housetrained, microchipped, and has received all necessary vetting and is all set for her happily-ever-after. In her time with BTRC, she’s proven to be a resilient, loving and entertaining dog who has stolen her foster family’s hearts. They insist that whoever becomes Peanut’s forever home will be incredibly lucky. ❤️

From viral to tidal – Peanut is making waves!
When we first introduced Peanut online, it was clear she had an instant fan base. Now she’s splashing her way into the spotlight during her leisure time at the trailer.
Her foster dad reports that she’s great on leash, loves the outdoors and is always ready for a swim. And, after all that activity, her favourite place to be is in the human bed, snuggled right under the covers. ❤️
This fashionista has also discovered that her favourite colour is pink. She struts her stuff with a floral harness, pink collar and leash set and a matching flower. From the way her bum wiggles when she walks, it’s clear she knows she looks good. Peanut's new active lifestyle has helped her shed a few pounds, and she’s excited to look and feel her best for her adoption debut (coming soon, so stay tuned!).

Hello Peanut!
This adorable four-year-old girl was surrendered to BTRC because her owner experienced a life change that meant they could no longer care for her. She was a beloved member of the family, so while the decision to rehome her was difficult, it was the best choice for Peanut.
Peanut’s foster family has loved every minute so far, and when we checked in to see how she was doing, her foster dad said, “She is amazing.” Energetic, playful, and affectionate, Peanut has proven to love everyone she meets – dogs included! She’s a wonderful car ride companion and loves cottage life! When her foster dads brought her to the lake to test out her comfort level with water, they were shocked to see her run right in! We’re excited for Peanut’s enthusiasm for her new active lifestyle; she needs to trim down a little, and this is a fun way to do it.
Though we’re still getting to know Peanut, from the smile she brings to everyone’s faces, we think this girl is going to steal some hearts. ❤️
