I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Grace

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Say, “Hello” to Grace!

We don’t know much about Grace’s past – but we do know it hasn’t been easy.

Thanks to a compassionate foster home willing to take Grace in and move at her pace, she’s getting the TLC she needs to decompress and feel safe again.

Grace is approximately five years old, and trust hasn’t come quickly to her. When she first arrived, even going outside of the cozy bedroom her mom made for her felt overwhelming, and she had no understanding of potty training.

Day by day, Grace is showing signs that she’s feeling more confident. She’s started to choose the living room over her bedroom. She’s becoming less hesitant about heading to the backyard. And we need to brag – when Grace took her first poop outside – we couldn’t help but celebrate. For an adult dog who came to us afraid of the outdoors and not housebroken – that’s HUGE!

Grace is also sharing her space with two cats, approaching them with curiosity and respect. She was quite impressed that they can jump on the coffee table, so she gave it a try. Thankfully, though, the couch seems more comfortable.

She still has some vetting to do, including being spayed, so she’s not ready for adoption at this time.

Grace is being fostered in Minden, ON.
