BTRC is heartbroken to share the loss of our beloved alum, Franky. At 10 years of age, Franky found herself in need of a foster home and medical care. Her foster family fell in love with her instantly, and it was no surprise when they decided to add Franky to their family permanently. Embracing her role as a “proud foster fail,” Franky thrived with the TLC of her new family, blossoming into a spunky, playful, and loving (if sometimes bossy) girl.
Franky was affectionately known as a “diva.” Pampered by everyone around her, she expected nothing less than to be treated like royalty. She made sure to vocalize her needs, demanding the finer things in life and ensuring her family was always attentive. In return, her family delighted in her snuggle skills, which they considered the ultimate reward for their devotion. Though Franky enjoyed being the center of attention, she also cherished her BT brother, Oliver, and would spend hours grooming him, believing that a princess deserved a dapper prince by her side. While playtime wasn’t her favourite, she dutifully engaged in occasional games of tug with Oliver, fulfilling her role as a loving big sister.
On July 2, at the age of 12, Franky suffered a series of seizures and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly during a rush to the ER. Her family’s love and dedication were unwavering until the very end. Her mom shares:
“While I only had her just short of two years, I cannot imagine life without her. Franky was the sassiest little bossy pants that ever lived and we loved her beyond measure. I’m shocked and devastated to have lost her so suddenly; but I’m epically grateful to have had this experience. It has been beyond rewarding and connected me with some amazing humans I now call friends. My little Franky is among the angels now and she will be deeply and forever missed.I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to foster then adopt you my sweet angel. Fly high over the rainbow bridge free of pain my love. We will miss you forever Franky Panks…until we meet again.”
Thank you to Franky’s family for giving this senior the life she was always meant to live. Run free, Franky.
