I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

It’s National Hug Your Dog Day, and BTRC foster Blue is ecstatic – hugs are her favourite thing!

We decided to share Blue’s story today because if anyone needs a nice warm embrace, it’s her. She’s been through a lot recently and is handling it like a champ (it does help that she has amazing foster parents who have been there every step of the way). ❤️

Blue recently had spay surgery, cherry eye repair and a mammary mass removed. We’re happy to report that the pathology for the lump came back benign. Unfortunately, Blue developed an eye ulcer, but thanks to a very rigorous eye drop schedule (and her dedicated foster mom), Blue’s eye has fully recovered, and she feels great!

Everyone who meets Blue falls in love with her – especially her foster mom’s co-workers. She was very much missed at work while she recovered at home, and her workmates counted the days until she was ready to accompany her mom back to work.

And today, on National Hug Your Dog Day, we also want to celebrate YOUR pups too. So, hold them close, give them a snuggle and share a pic with us!

Blue is being fostered in Montréal, QC and is not yet ready for adoption.

Introducing Blue – the cutest new coworker in Montreal!

Blue is a nine‑year‑old Boston Terrier-Chihuahua mix who came to us from a shelter. Her family thought she might do best in an environment without children. It seems like Blue agrees because she’s been a complete doll since arriving in her foster home, and she’s loving all the undivided attention from her foster parents!

To say Blue’s foster mom is smitten with her is an understatement. And, ever so talented, Blue now has a full-time job as an office assistant at her foster mom’s work. She also travels in style – she’s so petite that she can travel in a tote bag for their morning commute.

This little lady has some appointments coming up, including a consult for her cherry eye and a spay, so her calendar is filling up fast! Blue doesn’t mind, though, because she loves any excuse to charm new people.

Blue is being fostered in Montréal, QC and is not yet ready for adoption.
