This holiday season feels a little dimmer as we say goodbye to one of our beloved alumni, Bentley. Adopted on March 13, 2021, Bentley quickly became the centre of his family’s universe. His life was what every rescue dog dreams of – a world where love knows no bounds.
Living with Bentley was pure joy. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome – including all visitors who had to engage in a mandatory smooch session before they could fully make their way into the home.
His snorts were his signature – the cutest little noises that let everyone know he was around. Now, without those snorts, the house feels quiet…still. Those sounds were part of his charm, a reminder that the sweetest moments often come in the smallest and most familiar details. ❤️
Bentley loved the outdoors, and his family made sure he soaked up lots of nature and allowed him plenty of exercise. Indoors, he was just as active – his obsession with Squeaky Pig made for a good – and loud – time…all the time.
His family will never forget Bentley’s watchful face in the front window. It wasn’t just a sight; it was a feeling. It was hope, loyalty and devotion. And while that window is now empty, the feeling remains – a reminder of the love that waited there so patiently and faithfully.
After a brief struggle with Cushing’s disease, Bentley crossed peacefully with his family by his side. This wonderful boy was loved beyond measure – not just by his mom and dad, but by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. As we approach the holidays, to honour Bentley, we ask that you hold your furry family members a little closer.
Bentley, you are a reminder that the greatest gifts are not found under a tree. Run free beautiful boy. We will hold you in our hearts forever.
