We are heartbroken to share the news that Vegas, a beloved BTRC alum, has crossed the rainbow bridge.
Vegas came into his family’s life on a bitterly cold evening in January of 2017. It was dark and snowy, but Vegas immediately brought warmth and light the second his foster mom laid eyes on him. It’s no surprise that weeks later, he was adopted by his foster family.
This gorgeous boy was a true character and had only two speeds – full throttle or lights out. His heart was as big as his personality, and while he was unsure of strangers at first, when he had time to warm up, he was your best friend.
Vegas prided himself on his surveillance skills and made sure his property was protected from all scary things – delivery people, deer, and anything that looked suspicious. He considered himself a rottweiler at heart and wanted to make sure everyone knew it…except the neighbourhood cats, that is. He was always a gentleman to his feline friends.
To his family, Vegas was everything – their protector, their companion and their precious boy. His mom says, “The years we had together were full of fun and games and adventures. So many cuddles, so many kisses, so many memories. I will miss him forever.”
Saying goodbye is never easy, but remembering the joy Vegas brought each and every day turns the pain of goodbye into gratitude for having had the chance to love him. Run free, beautiful boy. You will always be missed. ❤️
