In Loving Memory of Tessa
BTRC alum Tessa’s journey began in uncertainty – at about 3 years of age, she was left in a box at a shelter, confused and frightened. But little did she know, it was the start of a beautiful life where she would find her forever home and a love that knew no bounds.
From the moment she was adopted on September 13, 2014 – a day she and her dad celebrated every year – Tessa embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She was fearless, especially when it came to water. She would dive in without hesitation, chasing after her beloved fetch toys with pure determination. She adored everyone she met, leaving a trail of smiles wherever she went.
Tessa spent two incredible years living in Germany, accompanying her dad everywhere – restaurants, shopping trips, train rides – always part of the adventure. Even when her back legs gave out in her final year, her spirit never wavered. She adapted with a harness and a stroller, still eager to experience the world around her. But when her health declined further and she stopped eating, her dad made the selfless decision to let her go, knowing she was holding on for him.
Now, Tessa runs free once more, her legs strong again as she dives into endless waters and plays fetch at the Rainbow Bridge.
All of us at BTRC send our heartfelt condolences to Tessa’s dad, Brent. We are grateful she had a life so full of love, adventure, and was obviously cherished beyond words. Though she may be gone, she will never be forgotten. ♥️
