I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Pretzel

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Dear Santa Paws,

Hi, it’s me – Pretzel!

I’ve been trying really hard to be a good boy this year, and I hope I made it onto your nice list.

I learned how to give my paws for cookies and treats, and I love playing with kids – I think they’re so sweet (just like me!). I even learned to take treats gently from their hands. I’m still working on not jumping too high, and I’m learning that I don’t need to bark quite so much. I do love a good gossip session, though, and when my foster mom comes home from work, I can’t contain all the intel I scoped out during neighbourhood watch while she’s gone.

For Christmas, I’d love a squeaky toy or two, and some yummy treats to chew! My foster mom says no stuffie toys, though. Apparently, that fluff I like to munch on isn’t good for my belly, so mom says to stick to snow.

I want to thank you, Santa. Just a couple of months ago, I was wandering the streets, not knowing if I would ever make it home. But then I was rescued, and now I have the bestest foster parents ever. I can tell they love me sooooooooo much, and I show them I love them too.

One more thing, Santa. I have big news, and I know this will put me on your nice list. I just had surgery on my knee, and even though it’s so darn hard to keep still and not jump or run, I'm trying my best to ‘chill.’ My foster mom and dad are very proud of me – but they’re the main reason I am laying low…because cuddling with them is my favourite thing! ❤️

I can’t wait to see what you bring me, Santa…I promise to share with the little humans who come and visit.

Love,

Pretzel

Introducing Pretzel!

This handsome two-year-old was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Thankfully, a BTRC volunteer got word, and we arranged for him to come into care. He’s now comfy and cozy in his foster home.

Pretzel’s a bundle of energy with legs like springs! Normally, that would make for some fantastic zoomies and some great airtime during play, but Pretzel has luxating patellas and requires surgery. Until then, his foster mom has found the perfect way to keep him calm – a sunny spot, a cozy cushion, and a few kisses before he naps.

With an active social life, Pretzel’s already loving his time in foster care. He was pumped to see how many toys there were to play with, outdoor adventures to sniff out, and even a young human visitor who’s an expert at tug!

We’re currently working on scheduling Pretzel’s surgery and will keep you posted on his recovery journey. Stay tuned – this adorable little man has a bright future ahead! ❤️

Pretzel is being fostered in the Niagara region and is not yet ready for adoption.
