I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Oreo

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Oreo’s exhausted – she’s been working very hard!

When 15-month-old Oreo first arrived in care, she brought with her a very busy mind! She had a deep desire to explore every single thing – but it seems her confidence was trying to catch up to her curiosity.

There have been lots of ‘firsts’ for Oreo, and her foster mom has been amazing at teaching her new things and also showing her that new experiences are not always scary. The TV screen saver, though – that IS scary, and Oreo doesn’t want to hear any objection. Floating objects are VERY suspicious.

Having a young dog as a foster can definitely be fun, but it’s also a lot of work. Her foster mom has been incredibly patient, consistent and dedicated. Day after day, she’s been reinforcing routines, practicing commands and working on Oreo’s manners…and it shows.

Of course, Oreo is still young – and a Boston Terrier – so she can only be tamed so much! When adoption time comes, her forever family will need to continue her training, as consistency is very important.

We are so proud of how far Oreo has come. ❤️

Oreo is being fostered in Colborne, ON and is not yet ready for adoption.

Say ‘Hello’ to Sweet Oreo

This adorable girl has just arrived, and at just over a year of age, she’s still in that curious, rambunctious, gotta-watch-her-every-move stage. This is why Oreo came to BTRC – because her owners recognized that her young energy and enthusiasm deserved a home that could match her need for stimulation, activity and enrichment.

Since arriving, Oreo has been playful and inquisitive, and she’s showing signs that she’s going to be a great student (her foster mom has a large training curriculum planned!). She’s also made some very important discoveries: a dead bug and the fireplace tools. She was smitten with the bug, but the tools? She felt as if they were staring at her, and she didn’t like it one bit.

Her foster mom is taking things slowly and thoughtfully and is very excited to get to know Oreo so she can help her grow and learn.

We’re excited too!
