I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Oliver

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

BTRC foster Oliver is soaking up lots of TLC – and rightfully so, because he’s recovering from TWO surgeries!

This brave boy had 12 teeth extracted and a 3.5 cm mass removed from his abdomen. Though the mass was quite large for his little body, we’re happy to report that the pathology indicates it is benign.

And while Oliver is proud that he’s been recovering like a champ, he’s also annoyed. The vet ordered that Oliver cannot perform any strenuous activity, which includes going on walks, and he has chosen to protest this decision by standing near the leash cupboard and voicing his displeasure.

A fun fact about Oliver – he has refined taste. He saw a stylish tote bag left on the ground and claimed it as his bed. His message to whoever left it on the ground: “You snooze, you lose.” Or in Oliver’s case, you snooze, and HE snoozes in style!

Another awesome thing about Oliver – he’s a great foster brother to his young human siblings and has perfected the role of sidekick and snuggler. And while he loves sleeping with his humans, he’s come to terms with the fact that they can’t quite fit in his designer “bed.” It might be time for Oliver to search for some larger accommodations!

Oliver is being fostered in Toronto, ON, and is not yet ready for adoption.

Introducing Oliver!

This adorable boy was surrendered because his owner passed away. Family friends stepped in to care for him temporarily, but they wanted Oliver to find a home where he would thrive, so they contacted BTRC.

Oliver is 7 years young and has the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy! He has two young human siblings whom he adores, and he can’t get enough of their attention (the feeling is mutual ❤️). In his previous home, he lived with cats and dogs, so it seems like Oliver is an all-around gentleman.

Recently, Oliver showed his dislike of rain, and he stayed close to his foster mom until the weather cleared up. We think he may suffer from the well-known condition of “Syndroma Meltinus Bostonitis” (Melting Boston Syndrome), which is caused by the deeply held belief that he will, in fact, melt when exposed to rain. Though harmless, Meltinus is highly contagious among Boston Terriers. This is something we will keep an eye on.

Oliver is being fostered in the Greater Toronto Area and is not yet ready for adoption.
