Maverick had a busy holiday season, and he’s now enjoying some downtime. This means his full-time job is eliciting snuggles from anyone who’s willing. He has a magical way of ending up on a human’s lap, no matter what they’re doing. And when Maverick burrow into someone he loves, it’s serious business – if he could, we have a feeling Maverick would permanently attach himself to his humans so he wouldn’t miss any opportunity for some love. ❤️
When he arrived in care, Maverick had some urinary concerns, and we’re happy to report that an ultrasound confirmed that everything looks normal. Maverick’s potty habits have also greatly improved, and he’s been letting his foster parents know when he needs to go out. He does sneak in a few ‘curtain pees’ at times – something about lusciously draped fabric is very tempting (though Maverick claims that he has much more restraint than in the past and now he only has the occasional slip-up).
Friendly and loving, Maverick’s confidence has been shining brighter each day. When his foster parents head out, he’s now perfectly content spending time with his canine foster sisters, Sophie and Emi, patiently waiting for their return (often with treats!).
It’s not surprising that Maverick’s foster family absolutely adores him – they consider themselves very lucky…and we’re pretty certain Maverick feels the same way.

This handsome seven-year-old was surrendered because his family realized they couldn’t give him the time and stimulation he needs to thrive and be the best boy he could be. He’s a bundle of energy who truly shines when he’s busy, engaged and in the middle of the family action.
In his foster home, Maverick’s enjoying the company of his two canine siblings and his young human foster siblings. His new environment is full of structure, playtime and positive outlets for all that enthusiasm – Maverick is loving it!
His foster family has started to work with him on his training, and he’s already showing he has the potential to be a great student. ❤️
