I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Hershey

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Hershey’s been working hard on his training and now that the weekend is here, he’s ready for some R&R. Luckily for Hershey, his foster mom is a great masseuse and gives him top-notch belly rubs.

We hope that you too can recharge this weekend and, like Hershey, relish in some Zen time.

Hershey is being fostered in Edmonton, AB and is not yet ready for adoption.

Hershey is livin’ the good life!

BTRC foster Hershey is enjoying what’s left of summer. He loves the outdoors and has discovered the joys of chasing water from the hose. He got soaked in the process and didn’t bat an eye – likely because he was too focused on biting the stream!

Since Hershey is not on his best behaviour with other dogs, time at the dog park is always one-on-one with only his foster mom. But it is still a great adventure as Hershey can’t get enough of all the new smells and sights which exercises his mind as well as his body! Ever so playful, he’s always up for a game of fetch and is a master destroyer of stuffies. He mistook his foster mom’s sandal for a toy (or so he claims), so you can imagine the state of the shoe.

Hershey recently celebrated his second birthday, and he was quite enamoured with his new puzzle. He is very smart, so he quickly figured out how to conquer the puzzle – his next mission is how to meet the neighbour’s cat he spies through the window.

Hershey is being fostered in Calgary, AB. His foster caregiver continues to work on his reactivity but this would be best addressed in a no-pet forever home so Hershey should be ready for adoption soon!

Welcome back Hershey

Although BTRC does everything we can to make the right match between a dog and their adoptive family, sometimes an adoption doesn’t work out. In Hershey’s case, the chemistry between him and his BT brother was not compatible. This doesn’t mean either one is a bad dog, or that the adoptive home has done something wrong. It just means it wasn’t a good fit. So, Hershey has now been returned to BTRC’s care and is getting reacquainted with foster life. We will share updates soon while Hershey has some time to explore his new surroundings. Hershey is being fostered in Calgary, AB and is not yet ready to be considered for adoption.

Hershey is a Potty Training Pro!

BTRC foster Hershey’s has some big news – he’s now fully potty trained! His foster sister, BTRC alum Layla, taught him how to ring a bell to let his humans know when he needs to do his business. It’s not surprising that Hershey feels like the big man on the BTRC campus. In fact, his toy of choice is now a jumbo donut stuffy, suitable for a big boy like him!

Yes, Hershey, you are a big boy, and we’re so proud of you!

SANTAAAAA!!!

My foster brother and sister, Norman and Layla, told me ’bout you and I’m super duper excited! You visit all the dogs and bring ’em presents? AND I can ask you for anything?

Well Santa, can I have all the toys? Like not just a few, but like all the toys? Is that allowed? I also like chewies. Oh, and can foster mommy and daddy play with me all day? Like I mean ALLLL DAYYYY, Santa. Cuddles too – keep those coming.

Norman and Layla say that you have this list and I gotta make sure I’m “nice” and not “naughty.” Do you make exceptions, Santa? I mean I’m just a kid and sometimes I can be a paw-full. That’s okay right? Can you still bring me all the toys?

I’m not supposed to tell you, but Norman and Layla said they are going to hide behind the Christmas Tree so they can sneak a peek at you when you come. Wait, will tattle-tailing put me on the “naughty” list? K never mind – forget I said that.

Hugs and Kisses, Hershey

Hello Hershey!

This one-year-old boy was surrendered because his owner was moving and unable to take Hershey along.

Hershey is having fun exploring his foster home for interesting things like balls and chews. He gets along with his two BT foster siblings and doesn’t understand why they aren’t as enamoured with their toys as he is. His favourite item is a rubber spikey ball and he is quite impressed that it doubles as a body massager.

Described by his foster mom as a “goofy, happy dog,” we look forward to learning more about him as he continues to settle in.

Hershey is being fostered in Edmonton, AB and is not yet ready to be considered for adoption.
