Georgia

Georgia

We are saddened to announce that another cherished BTRC alum has crossed the rainbow bridge. Georgia, adopted in 2016, had nearly nine amazing years with her family, and every moment was considered a blessing.

When Georgia’s mom saw her on BTRC’s website, she knew she was the one. She had a key quality – good with kids – which mattered because she would be joining two young human brothers. And when everyone got to know her, she became much more than just a dog who liked children – she became a cherished member of the family.

Georgia was estimated to be around five or six when she was adopted, and while her family didn’t know what her life was like before they met her, they vowed to give her the happily-ever-after she deserved. Described as a ‘Velcro dog,’ Georgia was always within reach, and her mom loved every second of it. Known for her signature lullaby, her snores were loud, rumbly and music to her family’s ears. And now the house feels all too quiet without them.

Her little BT sister Lily also feels her loss, as the two were best friends and cuddle-mates. Georgia’s mom says, “She was my first dog since I was a child, and I consider her my ‘soul dog,’ and I miss her terribly…BTRC is doing great things for its rescues, and I’ll be forever grateful to them for bringing me Georgia.”

Some bonds are so deep that not even time or space will cause them to fade. Georgia, you will be loved and remembered, and your presence will be felt, always. Run free, sweet girl.
