Some foster dogs take time to settle in. Daisy, on the other hand, arrived with a plan.
The plot began the second she arrived – and her young human foster sisters were immediately on board. Foster brother, BTRC alum Jimmy, was also called in for reinforcements.
This was their strategy:
✔ Melt into foster sisters’ arms when being held
✔ Earn Jimmy’s approval and admiration
✔ Integrate seamlessly into family life
✔ Make everyone know they can’t live without her
It didn’t take long for the adults to realize they were outnumbered…but really, it was clearly a perfect plan and undeniably true.
We’re thrilled to announce that Daisy’s foster family is now her forever family. ❤️
Don’t you love happy endings…and a great conspiracy?
Sweet Daisy needs some love!
Before heading in for her dental, Daisy got a sweet send-off from her foster sister. She wanted to wish Daisy well, but she also felt that she needed some extra comfort, given that breakfast was NOT on the menu that morning, and Daisy was NOT a happy puppy.
Daisy had a long day at the vet – x-rays were done, an extra tooth was removed, and two unerupted molars were discovered. Her gums were opened to prevent any cysts from forming and to allow the teeth to grow in properly. However, Daisy will need recheck radiographs in six months to ensure everything looks as it should.
It only took one day of rest for Daisy to return to puppy mode, and her foster brother, BTRC alum Jimmy, was thrilled to have his favourite playmate back in action. ❤️
Daisy is being fostered in Bradford, ON and is not yet ready for adoption.

Her spay surgery, you might ask? Nope – that went off without a hitch.
In Daisy’s world, there’s a bigger problem – the lack of heat sources.
Warm fireplace? That blows out and not up.
Heated blanket? Too much square footage.
Sunbeam by the window? Too unreliable.
Human’s lap? Almost perfect, but not quite.
There’s one vent, and only one vent, that Daisy deems acceptable. And of course, it’s the exact one her foster brother, BTRC alum Jimmy, has claimed as his own.
So, the only solution both parties see as reasonable is to squish in and pretend they’re comfortable.
Operation Vent Takeover: Success

Welcome, Daisy!
This four-month-old Boston Terrier–Boxer mix was brought home on impulse to remove her from a not-so-great situation. While her owner’s heart was in the right place, it soon became clear that Daisy’s puppy energy and training needs just weren’t a good fit for their lifestyle or home. Wanting the best for her, Daisy was transferred to BTRC so she could get the structure and support she needs to thrive.
At first, Daisy was a little timid, but she’s already coming out of her shell – thanks in large part to her foster brother, BTRC alum Jimmy, who’s showing her the dog ropes, and his three young human sisters. These girls are seasoned BTRC helpers who know just how to build a puppy’s confidence through play, training, and cuddles.
Daisy is all legs, love, and puppy charm – the kind of sweetheart who can get into mischief one moment and melt your heart the next. We can’t wait to watch her blossom in foster care!
